I was totally excited to read Stacy Overby’s  new book,  Scath Oran. As I read her series of poems, I wished I had the talent to write poetry however, poetry is just not my thing – I struggle with it.  Oh, the words come but there’s more than just putting the words down when it comes to poetry; every line needs to be in sync, perfect order.

Stacy has a way with words and she ranks up there with Edgar Allen Poe, Robert Louis Stevenson, Emily Dickinson, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Robert Frost, and William Shakespeare. Her poems are a different, a little on the dark side and in the fantasy world but that’s all fine with me. I read the book within an hour as I was all caught up in the words this author had written.

I don’t usually read poetry on a regular basis but when you have something that has as an intriguing of a hook that brings you into the story as these poems did, I was hooked from beginning to end.

One suggestion, do something different expand your genre, read something your normally wouldn’t; I’ve done that once or twice before.  I look forward to reading more of  Stacy Overby’s writings. She has a great future ahead!

Until next week, my friends.

Happy Reading!
