Even though Mirror and Thorns has been released for awhile, I have been a slacker. I should have read this book when it first came out however, life gets in the way and I was swamped with writing articles regarding Dangerous Liaisons. Now it’s time to catch up on things such as book reviews and upcoming new events.

I read the book Mirrors and  Thorns, an anthology, and I enjoyed it. It’s complied of short stories written by several talented authors. The theme reminded me  somewhat along the lines of a mild version of Stephen King. Normally, I don’t get into that type of genre however, on occasion I do step out of my comfort zone. That’s a good thing for a writer to do sometimes, it helps them grow and expand as an author.

Although I enjoyed all of these stories, I especially enjoyed “Young Blood” written by Kerry E.B. Black. an intriguing tale about two children, one who is jealous of the other. The ending is not  happy – as none of these stories are supposed to be; they are dark tales.

Another favorite of mine, was “Mirror” written by J.K. Allen; one is totally transformed into this story as if you are right beside the characters, watching and listening.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This will most likely be one that I will read over and over again.  Each author brings something unique to their story and that I liked.

That’s it for this week. I may have another book review for you next week, if not it will be something exciting. Have a wonderful week!

Happy Reading!
