Last week I talked about Sierra Lancaster, my main female character. This week I bring you two more complex characters Colton Jameson and Maxwell Stewart (although as of now we know very little about Max Stewart, I assure you in the sequel – he plays a major, exciting role).

Colton Jameson is Sierra’s partner and close friend. He was an army brat growing up and much to his father’s dismay, he did not follow in his father’s footsteps and make the military his career choice,  however, his brother Cooper did.

You would think parents of an FBI agent would be proud that their adult son was serving his country (in his own way) risking his life; but not Patty and Tom Jameson. Perhaps it’s the fact they are hiding a deep, dark secret from their sons.

Colton has traveled to Leesville, LA to visit his parents while recovering from his injuries during the undercover operation he and Sierra were assigned to. The only problem is, he feels suffocated by his parents, can’t get any privacy.  His brother Cooper, who sometimes suffers from PTSD doesn’t understand him and why he would want to work for the FBI.

Colton is relieved when Max gives the okay(bad guys are looking for Colton and Sierra from a previous operation) to return to his home in Virginia, but Colton’s parents are not happy, and Colton finds that once he is back home he has to cut his vacation time short. There may be trouble in Lexington, Virginia – the place where Sierra has gone on her vacation.

Colton arrives in Lexington, Virginia. Excited to be working. However, danger lies ahead. There’s a drug operation in Lexington, the dealers know the local police – Colton, and Sierra go undercover at the local high school. There’s one catch – Sierra’s former friends are employed as teachers at the school. Colton wants to meet up with these three who messed with his partner. He knows the whole story.

As the two are dealing with this undercover operation, Colton is blindsided when he receives a phone call from a doctor at a VA Hospital in Texas. His brother has been in the VA and is now ready to go home but the parents are out of town and Cooper needs Colton to sign him out. There is a mystery here all of which I cannot divulge or I will spoil it for you. I assure you it is fantastic! Sorry, but I have to leave you hanging here.

Maxwell Stewart, though we don’t know too much about him as of yet; I can tell you that he is Colton and Sierra’s boss, handler, and close friend.  Sometimes he doesn’t agree with his two agents on how they handle an operation but he knows he has two of the top agents working on the tougher cases. And they’ve driven him crazy at times! A little hint: Max finds out important information revolving around his agent friends but he wants and needs proof before he tells them as it will change their lives forever.

And that is all you’re going to get until next week. Join me next week as I continue this journey with you into the world of Dangerous Liaisons and the characters.

Happy reading!
